It was bad enough when the idiots on NHL Network confused Carey and Kari because they don't read their pronunciation guides, but the guys on SportsnetWest saying Val-uh-beek? Oy-stare-ick? Are they THAT hard to say? Seriously? And the goalie's name is Kah-ree. Not Carrie. Christ almighty.
I do love how the team's trying to prove something now. And I can't lie to any of my 8 loyal readers (hi MJ! hi SwedCan!)... I would be kind of heartbroken if Johnny Tavares wound up in Atlanta. I know a lot of the team's fans are praying for that, but unless the GM is replaced prior to the 09-10 season, I can't seeing it being anything but a bad fit. Steve Stamkos is a great example of how the expectations of being a saviour in a non-hockey market can turn into a cautionary tale. As was Kari, and Ilya, and Zach. Also of great note, for those of you who're keeping track at home, JT broke the OHL career scoring record today - formerly held by Peter Lee, potting his 56th-58th of the season, and his 215th of his career.
So I'll wrap up with congratulating the Thrash on the mini-streak they've putting together since dumping Havs, The Count, and Crusher. Whether they have a shot in hell at the 8th spot or not, they're playing like a TEAM finally, and it's heart-warming to see.
In conclusion.... Slats your flow is so sick I'm sending it a get well card! Way to bring back the hockey hair buddy!

HI ROBBIE!!!! I miss chatting with youuuu!!! =] How's things??? You enjoy that ice storm last week? =D Did the city shut down?!
Do I count in the eight?? <3
And why exactly would Johnny Tavares be a bad fit in Atlanta?
To me, the only way he'd be a bad fit is if he couldn't speak English...
And the only way he'd be a BETTER fit is if he were black...
Suz: YES! YES! YES!!!! And I missss you!!! One day I'll get back to where this all started... soon as life settles down and I have a handle on things enough to write out coherent thoughts!
Wayne, my return comment was so long I'm making it a post. =D
