Which kind of surprises me, because I live on a god damned farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and we have an above-ground pool (although, in my defence, it would have cost over $20k to blast all the rock out to install an in-ground). Thusly...
NASCAR NIGHT: It was NASCAR night at Philips Arena, and fans got to see a few of the stock cars up close. You might think a Thrashers team built mostly of Canadians and Europeans would be without NASCAR fans, but goalie Kari Lehtonen plans to attend Sunday's race at Atlanta Motor Speedway as a fan.
"My first three years, I didn't get [NASCAR]," said Lehtonen, a Finland native. "But I just kept watching it and watching it and started loving it."
He said he likes Jeff Gordon but is open to finding a new favorite driver. "I don't have someone I always like to watch," he said.

Kari is also a huge fan of Formula 1 driver Kimi Raikkonen, also from Finland.
I would hope so :) But F1 and Nascar are quite different, not unlike CFL and NFL.
I renewed my season tickets today b/c hockey is perfect even when my team is tanking. I'd also like to say a word about Minnesota Wild fans... they're all a bunch of classy ladies and gentlemen. Go Wild!
So, pkwaldrop I'm not sure if you're a Wild or Thrashers fan but yay! I put the cash down for my season tickets today too! We must be twins!
To me, hockey's perfect when the players are playing for the love of the game. :) Everything else is gravy.
