Kari getting back into hockey shape!

Craig totally gave us the low down on Lehts this morning:

The medical staff has officially turned Kari Lehtonen over to Steve Weeks to get some of his timing back and start getting back in hockey shape. Lehtonen has been pain free for over a week and the fact that he’s now skating and working with Weeks is a good indication that he’s really close to returning to practice. It could happen as soon as Sunday, so that would be a real positive development for the Thrashers. Don Waddell hasn’t ruled out a rehab assignment in Chicago, but hasn’t given any indication that’s what the team is planning on doing. There’s a busy stretch of games coming up in which a healthy Lehtonen would be a big boost.
We're completely excited!! And just as a reminder, Kari's 24th birthday is tomorrow, so drop by Duluth today or tomorrow, if you're free, and wish him a good one!

For Kari Central™, I'm Maal Ivahti.

Yay for Kari getting close to coming back soon! I would rather see him 100% since it still is early in the season than reinjury himself if he wasn't 100%. Especially since the Thrashers are doing a little better thanks to Kovy=)

And it should be a holiday for Kari's birthday tomorrow!

I totally agree, and I felt the same about Kovy too when he had those back spasms. But it seems to have not negatively affected him at all (hi! streak!) - knock wood - but I will be perfectly happy to wait a while for Kari at 100%. It'll be an absolute treat.

It should be! Let's wear party hats to work tomorrow!
